Tawakkul
Do What You Can. Trust the Rest.

There is a point where effort ends and trust begins.

We make plans.
We do our best.
We try to make things work.

And then there are things we simply cannot control.

Tawakkul is often understood as putting our trust in Allah (God). But trust does not mean sitting back and doing nothing.
It begins with taking responsibility for what is within our hands, then accepting that the outcome is not entirely ours to decide.

This talk explores tawakkul as a way of approaching uncertainty, effort, disappointment and the things we cannot control. So as to achieve progress by taking actions without fear.

What does it mean to trust Allah (God) while still doing our part?
When do we stop trying to control the outcome?
And how do we carry on when things don’t turn out the way we hoped?

Do what you can. Then trust Allah (God) with what you cannot.
